Windies leave out big guns

Dwayne Smith has been recalled to an inexperienced West Indies squad for two Twenty20 internationals against England at the end of September.

While Smith wins his first call-up in 18 months, The West Indies have left out a host of leading players due to their commitments in the Champions League T20 tournament.
IPL stars Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo will turn out for Mumbai and Chennai respectively while Trinidad & Tobago will be represented by Lendl Simmons, Adrian Barath, Darren Bravo and Ravi Rampaul.
Chris Gayle meanwhile is still at odds with the West Indies Cricket Board and therefore will also not feature against Stuart Broad's side.
England in contrast are expected to select Eoin Morgan, despite the vice-captain's name appearing on the Kolkata Knight Riders team list for the Champions League. The West Indies decision to travel with a weakened squad is likely to upset the ECB who fixed the two T20 fixtures onto the end of the summer programme in order to fulfill a contractual obligation with the media and the WICB.
Four uncapped players have been included in the 14-man squad which will be captained by Darren Sammy, those being Miles Bascombe, Johnson Charles, Nkruma Bonner and Derwin Christian.
Both matches, on September 23rd and 25th, will be hosted by The Oval.
West Indies squad: Darren Sammy (capt), Christopher Barnwell, Miles Bascombe, Devendra Bishoo, Nkruma Bonner, Johnson Charles, Derwin Christian (wk), Fidel Edwards, Danza Hyatt, Ashley Nurse, Andre Russell, Marlon Samuels, Krishmar Santokie, Dwayne Smith.
